Bethany’s Journey To Discovering Her Purpose
Bethany’s journey to discover her purpose has been messy, but it’s where she learned to step into her purpose. She explains that society has boxes that you are supposed to check off and even though she was checking them all off, she felt unsettled. Bethany loved being a nurse and taking care of people, but it was tough for her to pay somebody to look after her children while she worked since home with them was where she wanted to be and she was working with children all day.
After digging down deep to discover her purpose, she decided it was okay to pivot. Regardless of what others think and say about you, sometimes you’re not in the right position and you need to find what gives you purpose and peace. Bethany shares how much happier she and her family are now that she has stepped into who she was created to be.
The Millennial Mission Podcast And The Stigma Of Being A Millennial
Bethany’s podcast, The Millennial Mission, is about finding your purpose and finding the answer to whether the millennial generation’s stigmas are real. In their episodes, Bethany and Corey chat with each other, interview people about their purpose, and share their debt updates.
Often millennials are known for job-hopping and giving up when the going gets tough. Bethany shares that the goal of their podcast is to encourage people to step into their purpose. They want their listeners to know that it’s okay not to fit into the mold that society has created.
Goal Setting As A Family
When Bethany felt called to be at home with her children, they set goals and reduced their budget to make it happen. Bethany and her husband Corey make it a point to sit down as a family and have conversations about money, getting out of debt, and reaching their goals.
She discusses the importance of including them in the process because it’s more than just learning how to set those goals. Your children should be part of the hard work it takes to reach the goals and the reward of accomplishing them. We discuss how instilling this when they are young helps better equip them as adults.
Financial goal setting isn’t usually part of the education system’s curriculum, so Bethany shares how she has been implementing this education with her children. Especially now that she and many other families are homeschooling right now, she explains that you should be taking time at the grocery to let them pay and showing them how a debit card works. It’s important to explain things to your children and make them feel like they are part of the goals you are working to achieve.
Life can be hard and you have to push through. Raising children that join you on the journey, and who have the opportunity to be part of the process helps ingrain goal setting into their lives. Even when it is inconvenient, we need to take the time to help our children learn those life skills.
It’s time to embrace the messiness and take control over what you want. Are you ready to fulfill your purpose in life?
